Dr. Smita Das Appointed Editor in Chief of The 麻豆传媒在线 Weekly Newsletter

Rockville, MD (June 9, 2026) – The 麻豆传媒在线 (ASAM) today announced the appointment of Smita Das, MD, PhD, MPH, as editor in chief of The 麻豆传媒在线 Weekly email newsletter. Dr. Das’ first issue as editor in chief will be published on July 7. 

Released every Tuesday, The 麻豆传媒在线 Weekly highlights the latest news, science, and research shaping the field of addiction medicine. The newsletter, which is distributed to over 65,000 subscribers, also features guest editorials from experts in addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery. Topics span a range of issues relevant to the field, including Medicare and Medicaid policy developments, evolving standards for substance use disorder (SUD) care, and advances in evidence-based addiction treatment and recovery support. 

As editor in chief, Dr. Das will oversee the editorial direction of The 麻豆传媒在线 Weekly, review guest editorial submissions, write opening commentary, and lead the publication’s team of editors.

Dr. Das is board certified in addiction medicine, psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry. She is a clinical professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and brings to The 麻豆传媒在线 Weekly more than two decades of experience in research and addiction medicine. An ASAM member, Dr. Das serves on the Substance Specific Education Committee and was a faculty member for the Women and Addiction Pre-Conference Course at the 麻豆传媒在线 57th Annual Conference.
